Donald Emery Parsons, 102, of Apache, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was born April 1, 1923, in Chelsea, Michigan, to Daniel and Amelia (Hanselman) Parsons.
Donald honorably served in the United States Army during World War II, rising to the rank of Corporal. Following his military service, he worked in Michigan Fishery Research, contributing to the preservation and understanding of the state's natural resources. His dedication to service, both to his country and to the stewardship of the environment, remained a defining part of his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Embury) Parsons; his parents; four sisters; and three brothers.
He is survived by his children: Barbara Abdon and Daniel Parsons and wife Cathy; grandchildren: Duane Abdon, Laura Ford, Donald Parson (Sonya), and Allison Moroso (Tony); great-grandchildren: Devin Abdon, Chayne Abdon, Riley Ford, Corrina Ford, Ethan Parsons (Malea), Kade Parsons, Karlie Parsons, Andrew Lechuga, Bryce Morosa, and Brandon Morosa; and great-great-grandchildren: Jayce Abdon, Rayne Abdon, Jeria Abdon, Sierra Green, Ezra Ford, Chevelle Ford, Atlas Ford, and Esme Abdon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Parsons lived a long and remarkable life marked by service, integrity, and devotion to his family. His legacy endures in the many generations who follow him.
Inurnment is planned for a later date in his home state of Michigan. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Crews Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
