Donnavin Higgins Obituary
Donnavin Harris Higgins was born April 10, 1937 in Dibble, Oklahoma to Harris Wesley and Dollie Lee (Powell) Higgins. He passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at his home in Amber, Oklahoma with his wife by his side. He was 85.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for late July in Kansas City. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
Donnavin attended Oklahoma City schools and received an Associate's degree from an area technical school. He married Vonda Arlette Wilson on February 12, 1991 at Krum, Texas. Donnavin was truly a jack-of-all trades. He started his working career as a barber and owned his own shop. Later he became a police officer. He also built homes, owned his own detective agency, and ran a construction business. He retired from construction in Lewisville, Texas at which time he began traveling with his wife. He also enjoyed driving his tractor and farming. He could play many musical instruments and loved Blue Grass music. He also enjoyed taking care of his catfish.
Preceded in death by his parents, six sisters, and an infant girl; Donnavin is survived by his wife, Vonda; three children from his first marriage and a loving family from his second marriage; and his sister, Freda Henson of Mustang.
