Obituary
Dora "Nadine" McLain was born in Duncan, Oklahoma on June 2, 1929, to Mart and Francis (Harris) Maloney. She finished her earthly journey on Thursday, August 31, at the age of 94.
A graveside service is planned for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 6, at Duncan Municipal Cemetery with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Toby Thompson, Dustin Thompson, Casey Brooksher, and Jim McLain. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
After graduating from Duncan High School with the class of 1947, Nadine became an LPN and worked as a nurse for 44 years, working for Dr. Bill Edwards for 25 of those years. She loved being a nurse and taking care of people.
On January 22, 1950, Nadine married Newt McLain. Together they raised two daughters, Cordella and Karma. They were married for 56 years when Newt passed away in 2006. Nadine enjoyed gardening and cooking. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Nadine was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Betty Mosely; and brother, Ray Maloney.
She is survived by her daughters: Cordella Tucker and husband James of Wichita, Kansas and Karma Huff and husband Robert of Kingston, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren: Toby Thompson and wife Tara, Dustin Thompson, and Robin Brooksher and husband Casey; 6 great-grandchildren: Ana Thompson, Sara Thompson, Grayson Brooksher, Gibson Brooksher, Gentry Brooksher, and Taylor Thompson; and brother, Rick Maloney and wife Linda.
