Doris Copeland Obituary
Doris Rogene (Stephens) Copeland was born October 13, 1939, in Abbeville, Louisiana to Wallace and Doris (Hoskins) Stephens. She passed away in Purcell, Oklahoma on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the age of 84.
A memorial service is planned for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 2 at Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tracy Wilson officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery.
Doris graduated from Duncan High School and attended classes at Cameron University. She enjoyed playing games on her computer and traveling. She loved dogs and enjoyed taking care of them. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, Doris is survived by her children: Terry Rutledge and wife Kristi of Oklahoma City and Taffy Meadows of San Diego, CA; grandchildren: Cortney Meadows, Brandi Telford, Brooke Rutledge, Tanner Rutledge, Hannah Rutledge, Kaylee Rutledge; great-grandchildren: Trevor Meadows, Brendon Meadows, Ryleigh Telford, Braxton Arnold, Summer Arnold, and Cade Telford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Doris' name to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at www.aspca.org.
