Earl Perkins Obituary

Earl Perkins, aged 93, died on Friday, March 8, 2024, and went to be with the Lord. On July 31, 1930, he was born to William Ace and Hester Ann Perkins in Eram, Oklahoma.

Family visitation is planned for Tuesday, March 12, at Whitt Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 P.M. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 13, at Bethesda Church of God with Pastor Johnny Gray officiating, assisted by Pastor Harold Metheny. Interment will follow at 2:00 P.M. in Celestial Gardens Cemetery in Cyril, Oklahoma under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are Jeff Briscoe, Ryan Atwell, Craig Perkins, Weston Hargus, Mike Gullett, and Jerry Morgan. Honorary pallbearers are Lonnie White, Jimmy Green, Ray Tilley, and Kenneth Thomas.

At the age of 17, Earl left home and joined the Marine Corps, and when he was discharged, he came home and went to a basketball game in Morris with a friend, Dick Marshall, who said he had somebody I want you to meet. It was love at first sight. Earl and Raybelle Weaver were united in marriage on March 27, 1948, and to this union were born 5 children. They were married 74 years when Raybelle went to be with the Lord.

Earl was a 33rd-degree Shriner and joined the Masonic Lodge #504 in Cement, OK, where he served as the worship minister. In 1960, he was a drilling superintendent for Twin Gas while forming a business known as Beco Engineering Production Supply. Several years later, that name changed to Beco Well Service where he employed around 80 employees and had 11 rigs and vacuum trucks. In 1972, he purchased the production of Marathon Oil Co. in Cement, OK which he operated for 23 years. In 1996, he and his wife Raybelle retired and moved back to Duncan, OK. Earl was a member of Bethesda Church of God.

Earl is survived by four daughters: Cheryl Atwell and husband David, Terry Briscoe, Debbie Wilkinson, and Donna Hargus and husband Mark; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Raybelle; parents; son, Dwayne Perkins; infant grandson, Terry Mark Hargus; sons-in-law, Bobby Briscoe and Glen Wilkinson; 5 brothers and 1 sister.
