Edward "Eddie" Dale Little, beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather, passed away on November 20th, 2024 at the age of 66. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, selflessness, and unforgettable memories.
Born on April 7th, 1958 in Madison, West Virginia, he spent his life living in Arizona, North Dakota, New Mexico, and then finally settling in Oklahoma where he continued to build a beautiful life filled with love and happiness.
Eddie's true joy in life was spending time with his family. He shared 24 wonderful years of marriage with his loving wife Patricia, creating a strong and enduring partnership built on love, laughter, fun, and mutual support. Together they shared five children, Shannon (Gabe) Rey, Keisha (Ryan) Tipton, Trey McCurley, Cole McCurley, and Cruise (Meagan) McCurley. Eddie adored his seven grandchildren, Caleb, Rylee, Jordan, Addisyn, Alaina, Lottie, and Haskel.
Eddie's skills, passion for knowledge, and wide range of talents led him to ascend in many endeavors. He proudly served in the Army National Guard where he was awarded Outstanding Trainee of the Cycle in basic training. He spent 28 years, collectively, working for rural electric cooperatives in New Mexico. He also served as President of New Mexico Member Services. For the last decade, Eddie was self-employed as an electrical engineer contractor where he redesigned power lines for rural electric cooperatives across Oklahoma. He loved his work and left a lasting impact on many colleagues and clients throughout his career.
When his daughters were young, Eddie served on the school board, volunteering as coach for little league teams and many other community activities. He was chosen Volunteer of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce.
Eddie had a diverse range of hobbies including golf, bowling, attending concerts, painting, dancing, and traveling. He was a highly skilled craftsman, photographer, graphic designer, carpenter, mentor, and more. However, his favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren.
Eddie will forever be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, thoughtful brother, and caring friend. He made friends wherever he went and never met a stranger. He was known by all for his kind and giving heart. He made people feel involved, important, and welcome. His warmth, kindness, and fun spirit will continue to inspire love and levity in all those fortunate enough to have known him. Eddie was a light in the life of everyone that knew him.
Eddie is survived by his wife, daughters, sons, and grandchildren; sisters Donna Little Hendrix, Lisa DiGann, Terri Valentine, Caroline Stewart, and Tamera Beth Patrick; brothers Tommy Carter, Jr., Robert Carter; his aunt, many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Eddie was preceded in death by his mother, Delores Little, stepfather Robert Reed, father Thomas Carter, and brothers Craig Dixon, Byron Dixon, and Mark Carter.
A private cremation through Whitt Funeral Home has taken place. Per Eddie's wishes, a Celebration of Life Gathering will be determined at a later date by his wife and family.
