Eddie Williams Obituary

Eddie Lee Williams was born in North Hollywood, California on March 29, 1972 to Loyal and Frances (Stypula) Williams. He passed away peaceful at home in Mountain View on December 22, 2021at the age of 49.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the First Pentecostal Holiness with Rev. Caleb McDowel officiating.

Eddie moved to Mountain View with his family in 1975. He graduated from Mountain View High School with the Class of 1990. He worked as a mechanic with his Grandpa Ray and Uncle Orval in Carnegie for a few years, before Eddie discovered law enforcement. In the early 2000's he became a reserve officer and worked for Carnegie Police Department and some other police departments along the way. In 2002, he went to work for the Mountain View Police Department. He received his Cleet training in 2005. The Town of Mountain View promoted him to Police Chief in 2008, where he loved the community and the people around the community. He was well respected by young and old alike. Eddie also worked as a reserve officer for Kiowas County and Apache Police Department. He was a member of Kiowa County's emergency management team. Throughout his career, he earned multiple Police awards. Eddie loved hunting and fishing with his Grandpa Ray, his brother, Raymond, and his cousin, Lance Williams. Eddie was a part of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Apache, where he was recently baptized in October.

Eddie married Erika Louise Upton on May 22, 2021 in Apache. They were married only a short time but enjoy many laughs and great memories together.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Erika Williams of the home, three children: Rachel Williams; Issac Derryberry and Haylee; Rylee Derryberry and Dalton; three brothers: Teddy Hammond and wife Tonya of Mountain View; Raymond Williams and wife Sharon of Gotebo; Kenneth Williams and wife Rhonda of Lawton; two sisters: Debbie Emerich and husband Jim of Moore; Jackie Spruell and husband Terry of Chouteau; uncle, Orval Williams and wife Kelly of Carnegie; aunt, Pam Kibby and husband Wayne of Holdenville; as well as many nieces and nephews that loved their Uncle Eddie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyal and Fran Williams, his son, Gavin Derryberry (who loved Eddie for how Eddie loved and took care of his mother), his grandparents, Ray and Carolyn Williams; Pauline and Andy Sherrin; and uncle, Sherman Williams.
