Edith Ashcraft, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born on June 26, 1942, in Munich, Germany, to Zenta Landfahrt, Edith grew up with a love for life and a deep devotion to family. In 1961, Edith married James Roosevelt Ashcraft while he was serving in Germany, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love, laughter, and dedication.
Edith's passions were many and reflected her creative spirit. She found joy in tending her yard, cooking meals that brought loved ones together, woodworking, crafting, and decorating her home for the holiday seasons. Her home was always warm, welcoming, and filled with the beauty of her handiwork. Above all, Edith cherished her family, who were the center of her world.
She was preceded in death by her mother; husband, James; sister, Irene; and 5 brothers. Survivors include her children: Donna Bullington and husband Richard, Janet Haugh, and Sandra Coker and husband Larry; grandchildren: Christina Weber, Francis Pendergrass, Jessica Billings, Melissa Hoodenpyle, Jacqueline Wentz, Jonathan Carey, Alicia Esparza, Jared Reynolds, Matthew Bullington, James Esparza, Michael Bullington, Sandra Billings; great-grandchildren: Morgan Weber, Lauryn Weber, Brooke Pendergrass, Charles Pendergrass III, Kaitlyn Pendergrass, Brett Pendergrass, Creed Pendergrass, Kesley Pendergrass, Eva Pendergrass, Madison Hanson, Emily Hanson, Abigail Hanson, Lillian Cave, Hendrix Hoodenpyle, JR Ashcraft, Avery Ashcraft, Alexis Billings, Alison Billings, Annabelle Billings, Blake Reynolds, Morgan Reynolds; great-great-grandchildren: Charles Pendergrass IV; and sister, Heidi Kofler.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, December 17, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. A graveside service is planned for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, December 18, at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Johnathan Carey, Jerod Reynolds, James Esparza, Michael Bullington, Brett Pendergrass, and Ashley Weber. Honorary pallbearers are Matthew Bullington, Charles Pendergrass II, Charles Pendergrass III, and Joshua Hanson.
