Edwin John Stahl, Jr.
May 14, 1937 – June 6, 2022

Psalm 116:15 – Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His faithful ones.

Edwin J. Stahl, Jr. of Duncan, OK joined those who have preceded him in heaven on June 6, 2022.

The visitation will be Friday, June 10 from 6pm to 7pm at Whitt Funeral Home, Duncan, Ok. The funeral service will be Saturday, June 11 at 1 PM in the First United Methodist Church, Duncan, Oklahoma with the Rev. Rudy Freese officiating followed with his burial in the Duncan City Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.

Edwin was born May 14, 1937, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Edwin J. and Katherine Stahl. He attended Nichols Hill Grade School and Harding Junior High School graduating from Classen High School in May, 1955. He attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated in May, 1961, with a BS degree in Chemical Engineering. He married Nancy Stahl on August 22, 1959 at the First Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City and they moved to Duncan in June, 1961. They had two sons, Mike and Greg.

Ed went to work for The Halliburton Oil Well Cementing Company in the Chemical Research and Development Lab in 1961 and enjoyed a long career retiring in 1993 from Halliburton. Following his retirement, he spent almost every summer at their cabin in Red River, New Mexico.

Ed was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity at the University of Oklahoma. His hobbies included trap shooting in Duncan and Raton, New Mexico and was a member of the Raton Trap Club and a Life Member of the Duncan Gun Club. Ed was also a very talented stained-glass artisan.

Ed loved his family dearly and is survived by his brother, Raymond Stahl, sister-in-law, Sandra J. Oxford and brother-in-law, Jack G. Bush. Ed had two sons and daughters-in-law, John M (Mike) Stahl and his wife Margaret and Stephen G. (Greg) Stahl and his wife Katharina. He had four grandchildren, Jordan and Erin Stahl, Jenna Stahl, Kayla Stahl and Cullen Stahl. Additionally, 3 great grandchildren, Emma, Sophia and Barrett.

Ed was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Stahl and his parents, Katherine and Ed Stahl.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
