Elizabeth Boyd Thompson

Elizabeth Boyd Thompson was born May 5, 1943 in Claud, Oklahoma to Vernon Smallwood and Willie Virginia (Layn) Smallwood. She completed her earthly journey on Saturday, May 21, 2022, in Duncan at the age of 79.

A graveside memorial is planned for Friday, May 27, at 1:00 P.M. at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.

Elizabeth married Luxter Dean Boyd on November 25, 1959. To their family two children – Terri and Gary – were born. He preceded her in death. On June 18, 1976, she married Jerry Don Thompson. She was employed by Atlas Tuck Concrete for 39 years, working in the payroll department. She retired in 2017. She enjoyed going to flea markets and traveling. She also enjoyed watching western movies. She especially loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Smallwood and Virginia Smallwood; first husband, Luxter Dean Boyd; son, Gary Boyd; and grandson, Johnny Boyd.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Jerry Don Thompson of Duncan; daughter, Terri Caldwell of Duncan; daughter-in-law, Karen Boyd of Duncan; stepchildren: Todd Thompson and spouse Mei, Ty Thompson, Jenean Thompson; grandchildren: Amber Reed and spouse Chase of Comanche, Josh Caldwell and spouse Melinda of Duncan, and Austen Boyd and spouse Jordan of Duncan; step grandchildren: Aaron Thompson and spouse Nasim and Eric Thompson; great grandchildren: Johnny Boyd Jr., Ayden Reed, Logan Reed, Axel Boyd, Bently Caldwell, and Jaspen Caldwell; step great granddaughter, Arianna Thompson; sister, Verna Pettigrew and spouse Bill; sister- and brother-in-law, Janice and Pete Peterson; and nephews: Micah Pettigrew and spouse Wendy and Tracy Pettigrew.
