Emma "Clara" Ragan Obituary
Clara was born on Aug. 24, 1941, in Ft. Worth, TX to Annabell Cocanower Ramming and Francis Lafayette (Bud) Ramming Jr. She passed peacefully from this world at home in Norman, OK surrounded by her loving family.
The family will receive visitors at Whitt Funeral Home on Friday, August 21, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. A graveside service is planned for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 22, at Marlow Cemetery with Garry Don Stephenson II, Scott Stephenson, Ashton Stephens, Ryan Masten, Jon Shahan, Kasey Thomas, Terry Brown, and Melvin Wilkerson serving as pallbearers.
She and her husband, Jimmie Edward Thompson, had four children before Jimmie's death in 1980. Jimmie worked as a heavy equipment mechanic, and they moved quite frequently around Oklahoma, Texas and California. Clara worked numerous jobs including homemaker, waitress, hospital custodian and convenience store manager.
She is survived by her daughter Margaret Stephenson (Garry) of Norman, OK; grandchildren: Garry Don Stephenson (Tiffany) of Nemo, TX, Michelle Masten (Ryan) of The Colony, TX, Scott Stephenson (Mariedith) of Richmond, VA, Ashton Stephenson of Norman, OK, Joseph Stephenson (Destyni) of Noble, OK; 11 great grandchildren: Kimber Stephenson, Ryder Masten, Carter Masten, Adaline Masten, Conner Stephenson, Carson Stephenson, Cameron Stephenson, Olivia Stephenson, Harper Stephenson, Haylee Stephenson and Emma Stephenson; brother, Stephen Ramming (Colleen) of Arkansas, Sisters: Myrtle Wilkerson (Floyd) of Foster, OK and Frances Wimberly of Oklahoma City, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
On June 9, 1984, she married John Ragan and gained a second family.
From her second family, she is survived by sons: John W. Ragan (Jenny) and Gene Ragan; daughter, Connie Seelke; 9 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Jimmie Thompson and John Ragan; sons: Jimmie Thompson Jr. and Calvin Thompson; daughter, Anita Thompson; brother: Sonny Ramming; and sister, Martha Stotts.
