Flossie Madge Knott Obituary

Flossie Madge (Foster) Knott went to Heaven midafternoon on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. She was 95 years old. Flossie was born to John and Bertha Lee (McNabb) Foster in County Line, Oklahoma on November 28, 1929.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ivy Knott, in 2007. Also preceding her in death were infant twin sons, Terry Lynn and Jerry Glenn and siblings: Harold Foster, Wayne Foster, Pauline (Foster) Lancaster, Lois (Foster) Stimson, and Ruth (Foster) Beauford.

Flossie and Ivy Knott were married on February 8, 1948. They had one daughter, Cynthia (Cindy) Knott Vincent.

Mother had several different jobs, but her final job was dispatcher for the Duncan Police Department for 10 years from about 1974 to 1984. Flossie was an avid reader and liked to camp at Duncan area lakes. She also enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and word searches, and rarely missed her daily Dr. Pepper. Nothing made her happier than cooking delicious meals for the people she loved. Before her health declined, she faithfully studied her Bible and regularly attended her church. She continued to attend worship services at the nursing home as her health allowed.

Flossie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Gordon Vincent. She is also survived by two grandsons and their families: Chris and Catherine Vincent, Philip, Thomas, and Henry, of Aurora, CO, and Jonathan and Kellie Vincent, Jaclyn, and Ethan, of Edmond, OK. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Dee Knott, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews and cousins.

Special thanks to the Country Club Care staff and doctors, the late Lynn and Susan Gregston, and Anita Yates for the loving care she received. Additional thanks to Elk Crossing Nursing and Rehab staff and doctors for their excellent care. We are extremely grateful to Dr. Preston Waters and the Duncan Regional Hospital staff for working tirelessly into the night about six years ago to save Flossie's life. You gave us six more years with her, and she lived to see all her great grandchildren. Thanks also to her cousin, Brenda Wilkinson Osborne, who was a great comfort and help to Flossie for many years. Lastly, special thanks to Refuge Hospice for their care over the past few weeks.

A funeral service will be held at Ray of Hope Church in Duncan, at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 4, with Pastor Mike McCord officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Whitt Funeral Home in Duncan, on Tuesday, June 3, from 5pm-7pm.

Serving as pallbearers are Chris Vincent, Jonathan Vincent, Randy Knott, and Kasen Osborne.

Memorial contributions may be made to KIF1A.org or WoundedWarriorProject.org.
