Frances V. Herbert Wray went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 28, 2021. She was born on “Tom Cooper’s Farm” in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Wendell Ellis and Geneva “Gigi” Folsom on March 6, 1938.
A loving mother, grandmother “Mimi”, sister, and aunt, Fran is survived by her son, Kye Herbert; daughter, Julie and son-in-law David Demerson; grandchildren: Laura and husband Brandon Morris, Frannie Garrett and fiancé Tevin Johnson, and Hayden Demerson; great-grandchildren: Macee and husband Tommy Bailey, Ashlyn and Austin Morris, and Nixen Garrett; great-great-granddaughter, Amelia Bailey; sister, Elaine and husband Billy Moore; niece, Gini and husband Chris Campbell; and great-nephew, Corbin Campbell and wife Kaleigh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wendell Ellis and Geneva “Gigi” Folsom; husband, Don Herbert; and husband, Gary Wray.
Fran’s greatest pleasures and memories always included family. She was also affectionately known as “Mom” to the local Vietnamese refugee community that loved her. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends, serving with her church family, and cuddling up with her sweet pup Maggie. She will be remembered by those who knew her for her kind heart, immense generosity, and contagious laugh.
The family is grateful to Comforting Hands Hospice and to Glenna Cash for their care and support during this difficult time.
Services will be held at St. Paul’s Methodist Church on Thursday, September 2, at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor David Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.
