Francis Roger AuClaire

Francis Roger "Bubba" AuClaire, 80, of Duncan, Oklahoma, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, June 9, 2026. He was born February 16, 1946, in Elizabethtown, New York, to Francis and Esther (LaMountain) AuClaire.

After graduating high school, Bubba proudly joined the United States Air Force, where he served his country with honor-something he carried with him throughout his life. Following his military service, he worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator, trades that suited his strong work ethic and steady hands.

Bubba enjoyed the simple, meaningful things: hunting, fishing, traveling, and spending time outdoors. He loved his family deeply and cherished every moment with them. His dogs were constant companions, and he found joy in their presence. A devoted Christian and a man of unwavering faith, Bubba was active in his church and lived his beliefs with humility and sincerity.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rebecca (Mattox) AuClaire; and his brother, Jerry AuClaire.

He is survived by his children: Scott Ross AuClaire of Pennsylvania, Jessica Bassett and wife, Sheila Leido, of New York, and Allison Mattox of Duncan; his grandchildren, Zachary AuClaire, Jordan AuClaire, Martin Bassett and Remaya (Lila) Bassett; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, James AuClaire and Michael "Mickey" AuClaire and wife Marie "Mo" AuClaire; his sisters, Cathy Bump and husband Kevin Ferguson and Cindy Attri; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A memorial service is planned for 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 16, in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Sam Buzzard, pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
