Freddy Tackett Prichard Moore Obituary

Freddy Tackett was born Oct 4, 1933, in Wilson, OK to Fred and Earline Tackett. She passed away on Aug 12, 2022, at the age of 88. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church West, where she served on the kitchen committee.

Her family lived in California, New Mexico, and Kentucky and returned, living at the Samedan Oil Camp in Fox, OK in 1945, where she graduated in 1952.

Dick Prichard and Freddy were married September 9, 1953. They moved from Duncan to Oklahoma City in 1963.

When moving to Oklahoma City, they attended Council Road Baptist Church, where they built friendships that have lasted a lifetime. Fun trips, Lake Texoma weekends, and many years of raising families bonded their friendships to be more like family.

Freddy had several jobs including working for Southwestern Bell in Ardmore and Duncan with her childhood friend Lawana Herrin. She also went to beauty school and worked at a beauty shop and she worked for OSU daycare in Oklahoma City.

Dick and Freddy owned a BBQ restaurant from 1969-1971. In the early 1980’s Dick and Freddy felt led to work at the Baptist Children’s Home in Madill where they were house-parents. She also provided childcare in her home. Of all of her jobs, being a home maker was her favorite, and the most important to her. She enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening, and antiques. Even in retirement she kept busy volunteering at Duncan Regional Hospital.

Freddy met Tom Moore in Oklahoma City and they were happily married in 2007. Tom passed away in 2009.

Freddy is survived by her son Bob Prichard and his wife Barbara of Duncan, and her son Kip Prichard and his wife Dee Ann of Crescent. She was blessed with six grandchildren: Jennifer and Kenneth Butler of Tulsa, Luke and Emily Prichard of Duncan, Jordan Prichard of Oklahoma City, Mitchell Dodson of Oklahoma City, Michael Prichard of Crescent, and Lexi Prichard of Crescent. The great-grandchildren blessings are: Kenny Butler and Colt Prichard. She is also survived by her brother, Bob and Betty Tackett of Enid, sister-in-law Phyllis Prichard of Bethany, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dick, and brother-in-law Dave Prichard.
