Gary Boyd Obituary
Gary Dean Boyd went to meet his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 15, 2022. He was born on March 11, 1961 to Luxter Dean Boyd and Elizabeth Ann (Smallwood) Boyd Thompson.
Gary worked as a machinist at Halliburton Services for 33 years. He then worked at Murf‘s Guns for three years. Gary loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, target shooting and building guns. He loved riding dirt bikes in his younger years, but had grown quite a passion in riding his Harley. Gary loved his family and any time spent with them.
He is survived by his wife: Karen Boyd of the home; daughter: Amber Reed and husband Chase; son: Austen Dean Boyd and wife Jordan; three wonderful grandchildren: Ayden Dean Reed, Logan James Reed, and Axel Dean Boyd; his mother: Elizabeth Thompson and husband Jerry Thompson; his sister, Terri Caldwell; his aunt: Verna Pettigrew and husband Bill; and numerous other family members and friends.
Gary was preceded in death by his dad, Luxter Dean Boyd, and his grandparents.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 24, at the Duncan Cemetery with Rev. Randy Southerland, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
