Gary Litke Obituary
Gary Edward Litke was born on September 27, 1940 in Durant, Oklahoma to John and Cora "Blanche" (Newcombe) Litke. He passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at the age of 84.
A funeral service is planned for 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 28, at the Chisholm Trail Church of Christ with Steve Gregg officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are Brody Litke, Blake Nalley, Aubrey Edmonson, Randy O'Dell, Tim Edmonson, and Carson Nalley. Honorary pallbearers are David Orso, David Smith, Red Jones, Eddie Wilson, Bill McCarley, and Steve Gregg.
Gary graduated from Mead High School and served in the Oklahoma National Guard. He married the love of his life, Patsy Briscoe, on October 23, 1960, in Durant, Oklahoma. Together they raised their two children, Jeff and Sheila. He enjoyed carpentry and the outdoors, spending his free time fishing, hunting, farming, and gardening; however, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him the most joy.
Preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, and 2 sisters, Gary is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patsy; children: Jeff Litke and wife Jami of Blanchard, OK, Sheila Edmonson of Duncan, OK; grandchildren: Kirsten Litke, Jordan Nalley and husband Blake, Aubrey Edmonson, and Brody Litke, and great-grandchildren: Zander Litke, Briggs Litke, Carson Nalley, Carleigh Nalley, Addie Nalley, and Daityn Nalley. Other survivors include his sister, Janet Johnson, of Yukon, OK, and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
