Gary Lynn Sparks was born July 11, 1940 in Marlow, Oklahoma to Henry Melton Sparks and Mattie Glenn (Rupert) Sparks. He passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the age of 84.

Viewing will be on Sunday, December 1, between 1:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Graveside services will be on Monday, December 2, at 2:00 P.M. at the Marlow Cemetery with Pastor Richard "Snip" Allen officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Shawn Bruce, Dawson Eakins, Brody Eakins, Tristen Hagler, Mark Ryder and Ronnie Sparks.

Gary attended Marlow Public Schools. He married the love of his life, Betty Mae Lane, on December 10, 1965 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He had been employed as a hot oil transport driver for Mel Cox Transport. He enjoyed fishing and working on cars. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Lynn Sparks, daughter-in-law, Amanda Sparks; granddaughter, Hailee Sparks; and sister, Pat Wolf. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty; stepdaughter, Sandy and husband Shawn Bruce; grandchildren: Lauren Brooke Kincaid, Heather Nicole Eakins, Terri Nicole Bruce; great grandchildren: Alexia Cheyenne Kincaid, Dawson Michael Eakins; and great-great granddaughter, Ryleigh Hagler who is due to appear April 15, 2025. He is also survived by his brother, Ronnie and wife Kathy Sparks.
