Gary Mack Woods

Gary Mack Woods was born August 3, 1945, to Edgar and Myrtle (Latham) Woods in Comanche, Oklahoma. He passed away on February 26, 2020, in Duncan. He was 74.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, February 28, from 5:30-7:30P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 29, at 1:00P.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Thurman officiating. Interment will follow in the Walters Cemetery, Walters, Oklahoma. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.

Gary graduated from Empire High School in 1964. Following successful careers at both Southwestern Bell/ATT and Medical City - Dallas, he spent his final years working at his cattle ranch. He enjoyed collecting and restoring classic Chevys. He also enjoyed drag racing, quail hunting and fishing. Most of all, he dearly loved his family.

On February 2, 2020, Gary married Jana Sevier in Lawton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Myrtle Woods; brother, Ross Woods; and sister, Mary Ann Herring.

Gary is survived by his wife, Jana; his children: Shelly and husband Tiry Williams of Sachse, Texas, Melissa Woods of Sachse, Gary and wife Amanda Woods of Nevada, Texas, Ed and wife Teresa Cox of Emory, Texas; step-children: Nicole Ernest of Walters and Myam Daniel of Walters; grandchildren: Tyler and wife Lauren Hooper, Caleb Ripple, Cody Woods, Andrew Woods, Bradley Woods, Neva Ernest, Haley Daniel, and Jonathan Ernest; great grandchildren: Eldwyn Hooper and Piper Rose Ripple; brother, Jim and wife Jo Ann Woods of Duncan; brother-in-law, Marvin Herring; many cousins, nephews and nieces; and first wife of 44 years and mother of his children, Beverly Ann Woods.
