On Saturday, March 16, 2024, George Francis Moran, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away at the age of 88.
George was born August 24. 1935 to George Clay and Irene Moran in Tulsa, OK. On May 29, 1986, he married Peggy Dudley of Apache, OK. Together they raised two daughters, Amanda and Megan. George also had a son, George Kelly and a daughter, Erin.
George graduated in 1954 from Anadarko High School. Following graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served until 1959. Upon completion of service, George became a police officer in Oklahoma City. After a long career in tourism, he retired to Peggy's homestead to be a farmer.
George loved his projects on the farm, fishing trips with his brothers, watching old westerns and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
George was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Peggy; his son, Kelly; and his two sisters, Mary and Donna.
He is survived by his daughters: Erin, Amanda, and Megan; his brothers: Rick and Terry; as well as, three granddaughters and two great grandchildren.
George requested an intimate burial for his immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make a donation to the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture, 2501 N. Stiles, Oklahoma City, OK 73105 in George's memory.
