Gerald Payne Obituary
Gerald Wayne Payne was born on January 10, 1947, in Paragould, Arkansas to Floyd Gerald and Joyce Louise Thompson Payne. He passed away on Monday, April 29, in Hugo, Oklahoma.
Graveside services are scheduled for Monday, May 6, at1:00 P.M. at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery with Rev. Bryan Pain officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Stephens County Honor Guard. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Gerald attended school in Duncan and then joined the 1st Calvary Division of the US Army. He was a mechanic for Caterpillar, but worked in the Maintenance Department at the Choctaw County Court House. He loved being outdoors and fishing. He was a people person and enjoyed visiting with everyone with whom he came in contact.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Gerald Payne; his sister, Patricia Smith; and an infant son.
Gerald is survived by his mother, Joyce Whitehead; daughters, Renee Rhoades of Bradley, Oklahoma and Brandi and husband Marco Elizalde of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Damien and Sherry Payne, Destinee Payne, Michael and Andrea Payne, Erica Thomas, and Haley Kinsey; great grandchildren, Gaberiel Payne, Adrian Payne, Soraya Torres, Ariana Payne, Nixon Payne, baby boy Payne due in July, Caleb Thomas, Cameron Moreno, Justin Broom, Everlee Broom, Lillian Smith, Elsa Smith, and Awna Kinsey; brother, Kevin and wife Debbie Payne of Duncan; nephew, Kyle and Chasity Payne; niece, Tiffany and Conan Jackson; and great nieces and nephews, Emmie and Devin Payne, and Jacobe, Kynlea and Caysen Jackson.
