Gloria Jean Nedd, 78, a devoted wife, mother, and friend to many, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026 in Marlow, Oklahoma. She was born in Duncan on April 9, 1947 to Earl and Melvina Lee (Word) Kelly Mills.
In 1965, she married Gary Wayne Bridgers, in Duncan. Together they welcomed two sons-Darren in 1968 and Brad in 1973-and made their home in the countryside south of Duncan. Gloria and Gary poured their hearts into raising their boys, especially through their involvement in sports and school activities at Empire. Gloria cherished those years, staying home to care for her family and finding joy in ceramics, a hobby that allowed her creativity to shine.
When she later entered the workforce, Gloria became a familiar and friendly face at JC Penney's Catalog Department, where she worked for many years. After its closing, she continued her commitment to serving others at Walmart. No matter where she worked, people remembered her for her warm smile, her willingness to help, and the genuine care she showed to everyone she met.
Gloria and Gary shared a loving marriage that lasted 38 years until his passing. A few years later, in 2007, she found companionship again and married Wyman Nedd. Throughout her life, she enjoyed traveling, especially cruises, and making memories with friends at the casino. Above all, Gloria treasured time spent with her family, who remained the center of her world.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Gary Bridgers; son, Darren Bridgers; and grandson, Casey Bridgers.
She is survived by her husband, Wyman; son, Brad Bridgers and wife Wendy of Marlow; grandchildren: Kyle Bridgers (Brooke), Chance Bridgers (Gracee), Angela Gonzales, Autumn Bridgers, Michael Hughes, Dakota Meras (Ira); great grandchildren: Bexton Bridgers, Arabella Gonzales, Makari Guzman, Mackley Bridgers, Hazel Scroggins; and sisters: Earlene Conger and Shirley Hardisty.
Viewing will be available Tuesday, March 10, at Whitt Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M. Funeral services are planned for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 11, in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with Chance Bridgers, Kyle Bridgers, Scott Johnson, Keith Woods, and Lucky Barnes serving as pallbearers.
