Goldie Tomlinson Obituary

On June 11, 2026, the world lost a beacon of love and faith as Goldie Marie Tomlinson was peacefully escorted by two angels from this life into the arms of our Lord and Savior. Born on May 8, 1930, in Union Hill near Duncan, Oklahoma, Goldie graced this world with her presence for 96 vibrant years, touching the hearts of everyone around her.

Goldie was born to Wesley and Dorothy Wright, who, along with her beloved husband Holmes Oliver Tomlinson; granddaughter, Stephanie Bullard Loveland; and brothers: Earl, Chester J.C., Richard, Quinton, Donald, Jerry, and Floyd; and sisters: Vinese Roberson, Bernice Cooley, and Martha Sztchko, preceded her in death. Her legacy, however, shines brightly through her surviving family: her son, Terry Bullard and lifelong family member, Barbara Bullard; daughter Cheryl Gibson and her husband Rick; sister, Nita Fields; grandchildren: Damon Anderson (Pitcha), Melissa Anderson-Schnick (Steve), Sheresa Dagley (Michael), Shauntaina Bullard, Joey Gibson, Lyric Gibson (Chris), and Mandi Black, as well as her treasured great-grandchildren: Kenneth, James, Julian, Mathilda, and Oliver. Goldie was also a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Goldie's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and unwavering faith. She and Holmes shared 53 wonderful years together, marrying on July 15, 1950, in Comanche, Oklahoma. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, as they raised two children and built a home filled with joy.

Her life's work was centered around her family and her faith. Goldie was a devoted homemaker whose faith and deep devotion to God guided her footsteps, making her an inspiring example of a Godly woman and a profound blessing to all. Her faith was a beacon, inspiring all who knew her. Through the years she was an active member of Central Assembly of God in Enid, Oklahoma, as well as Bethel Assembly of God and Gospel Beams in Duncan, Oklahoma. Her commitment to her faith extended to teaching Sunday School for many years, where she shared God's love with countless children.

Goldie's compassionate heart was known to all, and her home was a haven of warmth and kindness. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, and her generosity touched the lives of many. An amazing prayer warrior, Goldie was the person people turned to in times of need, knowing she would touch heaven for them.

Her love for life extended to her hobbies, which included caring for her flowers and eagerly awaiting the appearance of martins in her birdhouses each year. Goldie had a passion for Christmas, and her beautifully decorated Christmas trees were a source of joy for everyone in the family. Nieces and nephews would bring their children over to enjoy her Christmas trees. Earlier in life, she loved to sew, and even recently, she dreamed of creating sewing projects for children. Family domino games were a favorite pastime for Goldie, bringing plenty of love, laughter, and some seriously fierce competition to the table.

Goldie's humor and quick wit remained with her until the end, providing smiles and laughter to those around her. Her presence was a blessing, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.

A service to honor Goldie's remarkable life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, 10:00 AM, at Whitt Funeral Home, located at 3716 N 81 Highway, Duncan, OK 73533. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Ms. O'phelia's Place Assisted Living in Lake Jackson, Texas, for making the last 52 days of Goldie's life memorable and fun.

As we celebrate Goldie's life, we remember her unwavering pursuit of God, her love for everyone, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and generosity. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will forever be cherished and missed.
