A Celebration of Life for Gunnar Jones has been planned for Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Apache. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Crews Funeral Home in Apache.
Robert Gunnar Jones was born on April 2, 1991 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Robert Jones and Lisa Bybee and passed on to his Heavenly Home on September 5, 2021 at the age of 30.
Gunnar attended Kindergarten in Apache, Oklahoma. He and his Mom then moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma where he finished the remainder of his education, graduating in the class of 2009. Gunnar received the Citizenship Award in Junior High and was involved in Student Council and Key Club in High School. Gunnar also attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he was a member of a Fraternity. Gunnar then made his home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where he began employment at At the Beach Tanning. He started at an entry level position and worked his way up to a Regional Manager position. Gunnar had a passion for training other employees and giving people a chance to gain meaningful employment, while others passed them by. Above all, the thing he was most proud of was becoming a Foster Parent to his God Daughter, Aniyla. He loved getting to be a part of her life and watching her learn and grow. He took pride in his parenting role and loved her with all of his heart.
Gunnar could light up a room with his smile, his sense of humor, and genuine love for people. His laugh was contagious and he could find happiness and positivity in every situation. He would do anything for anyone, always putting others before himself. He loved watching movies and was a big Harry Potter fan. He loved his friends and family and celebrating holidays together. He was the best gift giver and always went out of his way to make sure everyone felt special. He had the biggest heart and gave the best hugs. Although he is walking with our Lord and Savior now, with no pain, worries or sorrow, he will be so sadly missed on this earth by all who knew and loved him and life will just never be the same.
Gunnar is survived by his parents, Kyle and Lisa Stewart; sisters: Alexa, McKinley, Kylee and Kennedy all of Weatherford; biological father, Robert Jones of Oklahoma City; brothers: Trey Jones and Ryan Jones of Oklahoma City; God Daughter, Aniyla Kessee of Oklahoma City; Maternal Grandparents, Delbert and Carol Bybee of Apache; Paternal Grandmother, Robin Johnson of Lawton; and many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins who loved him so much.
