Howard Lavanda Jones was born On May 29, 1953, in Portales, New Mexico to James Harlen and Mary Mae (Dunsworth) Jones. He finished his earthly journey in Duncan, Oklahoma on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. He was 71.
A private family memorial service is being planned for a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
Howard graduated from Clovis High School in New Mexico. Throughout his life, he worked as a tile setter and enjoyed woodworking and building cabinets. In his free time, Howard also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Jones; and a granddaughter.
Survivors include his children: Robert "Bobby" Jones, George Jones, Stacy Jones, Samantha Jones Alcala; 4 grandchildren; brothers: Harlen Jones and wife Jan of Clovis, NM, Chuck Jones and wife Becky of San Angelo, TX; and sisters: LaDenna "Jan" Kipp and husband Andrew of Albuquerque, NM, LaDonna "Jean" Schwab and husband John of Farmers Branch, TX.
