Jacquline "Jackie" Lee Dyer was born in Amarillo, Texas, on November 6, 1956 to Gene George and Joyce Faye (Tedder) Knapp. She passed away in Lawton, on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at the age of 67.
A memorial service is planned for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 3, at the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Jackie was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Duncan, Oklahoma. She enjoyed attending until her health started to decline, at which time, the ladies in her Sunday School class would try to include her by calling her during class so she got be involved on speaker phone. Her fur baby Max was always by her side and was a great comfort to her. Jackie enjoyed spending her days playing computer games, especially Solitaire, and going gambling with her brother, Joey, when her health allowed. She enjoyed having her nails done by John at Uptown Salon. Jackie loved spending time visiting with her neighbors, DeeDee and Mrs. Mary, whom she came to love so dearly. She looked forward to all the calls and visits from her family that she loved so much. She could always count on hearing from her nephew Jeremy who called several times a day making her feel so special and loved. Jackie had the blessing of getting to stay over with her brother Joey and his family who so lovingly opened their home to her before her unexpected passing.
Jackie was a very giving person. Even though she was battling cancer, Jackie figured out a way to help people. She was determined and very passionate about donating her body to the OU Willed Body Program in order for students to continue learning. In time, she will be laid to rest with her husband, Harry "Bud" Dyer Jr. at Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche, Oklahoma.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, "Bud"; brother, John Knapp; and sister, Sheila Knapp.
Survivors include her "bonus" children: Rocky Dyer and wife Stacy and Amy Dyer; brothers: Joe Knapp, Terrance "Tim" Knapp and wife Beki, and Christopher Knapp and wife Jennifer; sister, Julie Woods and husband Kenneth; brothers and sisters-in-law: Paula Rogers, Deanna and Ross Pruitt, Geanann Badgwell, Donnie and Lavania Pruitt, Ronnie and Lavonna Pruitt, Randy Pruitt, Deborah Hancock, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Memory of Jacquline Lee Dyer to the OU Foundation and mailed to Willed Body Program at BSEB 138, PO Box 26901, Oklahoma City, OK 73126-0901 or to the Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma at 2465 N Whisenant Dr, Suite 100, Duncan, OK 73533.
