James H. Cantrell Jr. was born on December 31, 1939 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Dr. James Cantrell Sr. and Gladys (Knair) Cantrell. He passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 in the Elk Crossing and Rehab Center in Duncan, Oklahoma.

James loved to do yardwork and just be outdoors. He especially loved spending time with his family. He worked for Halliburton for many years as an Electronic Tech. James married the love of his life, Carolyn June (Fry) Cantrell. Mr. Cantrell was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church West.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 daughters, Janette Ammons and Kimberlee Humphrey. Survivors include his wife Carolyn Cantrell of Duncan, OK; son, Randy Humphrey and wife Terri of Woodward, OK; 4 grandchildren: Sara and Greg, Cindi and Amber; and many other family members and friends.

There are no services planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
