James Keely Obituary
James Lynn Keely was born October 3, 1962, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to Lynn and Linda (Towler) Keely. He passed away peacefully at his home in Duncan, with his beloved wife by his side, on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the age of 63.
James grew up in Duncan and graduated from Duncan High School with the Class of 1980. Shortly after graduation, he married the love of his life, Rhonda Lawson, on June 7, 1980. Together, James and Rhonda built a life filled with love, family, and many treasured memories.
James continued his education at Red River Vo-Tech, where he studied master carpentry and construction. He put those skills to use throughout his career, working for Commercial Interiors and Len-Co Supply for many years. His craftsmanship and knowledge of construction were an important part of his working life.
In his free time, James especially enjoyed spending time with his son, Jonathan. Together, they shared a love for fishing, hunting, and playing golf. These shared interests gave James and Jonathan many special times together and created memories that Jonathan will always treasure. James also enjoyed collecting guns and making his own ammunition as well as watching movies and spending time with his wife, Rhonda. Above all, time spent with his family was what mattered most to him.
James was preceded in death by his father, Lynn Keely; paternal grandparents, Charles and Lanie Keely; and maternal grandparents, James and Ella Towler.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Rhonda Keely; son, Jonathan Keely and wife Heather; grandchildren: Jackson Edwards, Raiden Keely, and Teigan Keely; mother, Linda Keely; brother, Don Keely and wife Debbie; nephews: Aaron Keely and David Keely; mother-in-law, Mary Jo Lawson; and other extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
As per James' wishes, there are no services pending. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
