James "Jim" Peter Rupp Obituary
James P. Rupp passed away on June 1, 2025 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 71 years. He was born on December 13, 1953, in Hays, Kansas to the late Michael LaVern and Dora Ann (Brooks) Rupp.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, June 5, at Whitt Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 P.M. A graveside service is planned for 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 6, at Marlow Cemetery with David Hale officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Mark Stringfellow, Dennis Sweat, Jimmy Dial, Danny Holland, Gerald Smith, and Mike Graham. Honorary pallbearer is Darrell "Bubba" Bearce.
Jim was raised in the Bray area. He graduated from Bray Donkey High School. On September 3, 1993, he married his soul mate Vicky (Sawyer) Staggs, with whom he shared a good life of 31 years. Jim was known as the go to person to give advice on tractors and vehicles or anything that came along, but mainly John Deere Tractors. His professions were as a machinist, mechanic on tractors, farmer, and wrecker service. He was a devoted Papa to the grandchildren and loved spending time with them and his friends and family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Vicky; sons: Randall Staggs and wife Kelly, James B. Rupp and partner Nick, Jeremy Hornbuckle and wife Janna; daughter, Amber Johnston and husband JD; 12 grandchildren: Madysen, Ethan, Kensley, and Mercedes Staggs, Taylor and Jordyn Johnston, Jeron Johnston and wife Kate, Shayn, Lily, and Mason Rupp-Mathews; Lily and Callen Hornbuckle; brother, Michael Rupp and wife Joann; very dear cousin, Bubba Bearce and wife Letta; and very dear friend Dennis Sweat and wife Misty.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Verna Ann; and brother, Timothy Rupp.
