Jami Rowell Obituary

Jami Delphia Peck-Rowell was born November 10, 1964 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Donald and Remondia “Mondi” (Forgy) Peck. She passed away at her home in Duncan on September 8, 2021. She was 56.

A graveside service will be Monday, September 13, at 11:00 A.M. in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery with Mike Keahbone, Lawton First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.

Jami graduate with the Duncan High School Class of 1983. She married Rick Rowell on July 5, 1984 at Honolulu, Hawaii. Together, they raised three sons – Cody, Ross, and Casy J.Mick. She was employed as a secretary for the Duncan Public School System for many years.

She was a collector of porcelain dolls. Jami loved to shop, especially for Christmas gifts which she gave to her family, friends and people she had come in contact with at various businesses. She also loved to decorate for Christmas. She was very generous with her time and money. She was “mom” to everyone and good to all the kids in town but never wanted to be recognized. Her pets/animals were loved. She loved spending time with her family, most of all, her grandchildren. Her family always came first.

Jami is survived by her husband of 38 years, Rick; children: Cody Don and Alyssa Rowell of Elgin, Ross Rowell of Duncan, Casy J.Mick and Jayden Rowell of Comanche; grandchildren: Waylon Don Rowell, Whitten Rowell, Woodson Rowell, Rowan Rowell, Callom Rowell; brother: Richard and Tana Peck of Broken Arrow; sisters: Jennifer Williams, Jill and Raymond Matheny of Duncan, Emily Bollig of Duncan; mother-in-law, June Rowell; sister- and brother-in-law, Vicki and Barry Ross; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Remondia “Mondi” Peck; brother, Perry Don Peck; father-in-law, Mickey Don Rowell; and brother-in-law, Terry Williams.

Memorial contributions can be made in Jami’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
