Janice Gail Mashburn, passed away in Duncan at the age of 66, on November 7, 2020.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 14, at 10:00 A.M. at New Hope Baptist Church West with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center of Duncan.
Janice was born on January 5, 1954, in Wichita, Kansas to Alfred Jack and Wilma Berniece (Halling) Watson. She taught the toddlers class, Head Start, at Delta Head Start in Duncan for many years. Janice was an outdoorsy person who enjoyed camping, fishing, and especially traveling. She was very talented, being crafty, sewing, and could even do carpentry work. Janice could do anything she put her mind to. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Janice was the rock of her family that was always taking care of everyone and will be dearly missed. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church West.
Janice is survived by her husband of 25 years, Gary Mashburn of the home; seven children: Anthony Hankins of Duncan; Amanda Coffey and husband Edward of Andover, KS; Shannon Hankins of Stonewall; Kristen Fernandez and husband Angel of Duncan; Matteo Mashburn of Oklahoma City; Lorissa Mashburn and John Graves of Oklahoma City; and Cato Mashburn of Lawton. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Catherine Sue Thompson and husband Joseph of Everett, WA, and Judith Parker and husband Robert of Casper, WY.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Virginia Carter.
