Ophelia "Jeanette" Bryant was born in Wapanucka, Oklahoma on July 23, 1934 to Rex Bryant and Bessie Novella (Burkhart) McCurry. On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at the age of 91, she passed peacefully in the presence of her family.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, August 3rd, between 1:30-4:30 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. A graveside service is planned for Monday, August 4th, at 10:00 A.M. at the Claud Cemetery with Pastor Kerry Glasgow officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Shan Files, Greg Files, Trenten Files, Doug Epley, Zac Pogue, Adam Pogue, Luke Norton and Patrick Norton; honorary pallbearers are David Bryant, Sam Jones. Arrangements are being handled by Whitt Funeral Home.

Jeanette graduated with the Velma-Alma High School Class of 1952. She married M.T. "Jerb" Bryant on September 6, 1952. Their family was completed with the birth of their son, Danny. She was employed as the high school secretary at Velma-Alma.

Reading and sewing were hobbies that she enjoyed. Spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her immense joy. She also loved attending all of the Velma athletic activities. She was a member of the Velma Baptist Church.

Jeanette is survived by her husband of 72 years, Jerb; son, Danny Bryant and wife Gayla of Velma; grandchildren: Katie and husband Sam Jones, David and wife Bailay Bryant; and great granddaughters: Parkar Ann and Ophealia Rose "Rosie" Bryant. She is also survived by a brother; 3 sisters; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, and 1 sister.
