Jerry Ford was born on Nov 6, 1955, in Sayre, OK to James & Goldie Ford. The family relocated to Apache where Jerry graduated in 1974. He married Brenda Mashaney in September 1974 and they made their home in Apache upon his completion of his associates in drafting from OSU-Okmulgee in 1976. They had their one and only son, Corey, in June 1978. As a family, they enjoyed supporting Corey in dirtbike races in various states. This instilled a deep love for motorcycles in Corey, and he & Jerry would go on to have several big motorcycle adventures when Corey reached adulthood. Jerry worked as an architect for DPW in Ft Sill for 30 plus years before his retirement and then went onto work for Corey as his sidekick doing electrical projects for several years.
Jerry, almost always with a 44 oz styrofoam cup in hand, loved music, telling stories, and talking about the stars. He admired Albert Einstein and Frank Lloyd Wright. He enjoyed watching his grandson wrestle and his granddaughter play volleyball. He had many long-lasting friendships, several people who looked at him as a mentor, a father figure to many, and a champion for people down on their luck. He was always available to lend a listening ear to his son and their father/son relationship turned into a deep friendship over the years. He was fiercely independent, authentically himself, and a life-long learner. He enjoyed reading, researching, and taking in new information. He was creative and a good artist.
Jerry passed away peacefully in his home on August 22, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Goldie, and his brother, Jimmy. He is survived by son Corey and his wife Lyndi; grandson Mason and his wife Amanda and their son Carver; and granddaughter Sierra.
Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date.
