Jerry Alvin Johnson was born August 1, 1932, in Duncan, Oklahoma to Charles "Charlie" and Hettie (Ray) Johnson. He finished his earthly journey on Thursday, December 12, 2024, in Marlow at the age of 92.

The family will receive visitors Thursday, December 19, at Whitt Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Funeral services are planned for 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 20 at the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Dean Hall officiating. After graduating high school, Jerry joined the US Army and served in the Korean War. During his time served, he rose to the rank of Sergeant and earned a Bronze Star among other medals and awards. After leaving the military, Jerry worked as a milk delivery driver until his retirement. He also owned many local businesses throughout his life. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed fishing, gardening, puzzles, camping and visiting the Wichita mountains. His love for baseball started as a young man playing the game and continued into adulthood. Most of all, Jerry loved spending time with his grandchildren and telling stories.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Troy Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, James Johnson, Johnny Johnson; and a grandchild, Shelby.

Survivors include his wife, Recila Kaye Johnson; children: Judy Chisum and husband Billy of Empire, Jerry Michael Johnson and wife Marla of Meridian, Troy Johnson of Tulsa, Recil Jade Johnson and wife Christy of Duncan; Holly Johnson of Duncan; grandchildren: Angela Cesar, Michael Elledge, Kaylee Boyd, Blake Boyd, Dylan Johnson, Elijah Johnson, Jamie Mascaro, Jeremiah Johnson; great-grandchildren: Chanel, Caddie, Cesar, Carmi, Kaylen, Kylie, Addison, Cherokee, Kiowa, Derrick, Dylan, Taylor, Hunter; and great-great-grandchildren: Emri, Stormi, and Renlee.
