Jerry Don Newman, II

Jerry Don Newman II passed away in his home on August 14, 2026. He was born in Medicine
Lodge, Kansas on May 9, 1958 to Peggy and Jerry Newman and shortly after moved to Duncan
with his parents and made this his lifetime home.

He was a graduate of the 1976 class of Duncan High School. In 1976 he met Judy Munns on Christmas Day and they were married on April 1, 1977. They had 3 children - Kristy, Kara and Jerry Don (JD) Newman III.

Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, water skiing, playing guitar, camping and hot rods. He had a long career in the oil and gas industry beginning as a mechanic with Mobile and retiring as an area supervisor for DCP Midstream.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Newman; father, Jerry Newman; grandparents, Hugh R. O'Connor and Mary Lee O'Connor; grandparents, Everett "Doc" and Ellen Newman, and his uncle, Michael O'Connor.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Judy, of the home. His three children: daughter, Kristy Newman and partner Cory Thacker; daughter, Kara Newman; and son, Jerry Don (JD) Newman and wife Tiffani, all of Duncan. Sister, Heather Hall and husband Jeff of Waurika; and half-sister, Jennifer Labus and husband Mike of Oklahoma. Five grandchildren: Addisyn and Alaina McCurley, Lawson Newman, Kaleb and Kellan Thacker. Brother-in-law, Randy Munns and wife, Brenda, of Flagstaff, AZ. Aunts: Mary O'Connor of Duncan, Carolyn Turner of Edmond, Sharon Allen of Edmond; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be Monday, August 17, 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Whitt Funeral Home. Visitation is planned for Monday evening 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 18, at 2:00 PM in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating the service will be his cousin, Rev. Brant O'Connor. Pallbearers include his son JD Newman, Toby Robertson, Jack O'Connor, Rev. Brant O'Connor, Cory Thacker and Donovan Smith. Interment will follow in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery.
