Jimmie LaWayne Robertson, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026, in Duncan at the age of 79. He was born on February 27, 1947, in Ventura, California, to James Lee Robertson and Nadine (Higginbotham) Robertson Pritchard.
Jimmie graduated from Ventura High School in 1966 before proudly serving his country in the United States Armed Forces for two years, including a tour of duty in Vietnam.
Following his military service, Jimmie married the love of his life, Cheryl VanWinkle, on April 17, 1971. Together they shared 32 wonderful years of marriage and built a life centered on family, hard work, and love.
Jimmie dedicated more than 20 years to the oilfield industry. He began his career with Brown Oil Tools and later worked for Baker Hughes, where he was known as a dependable and hardworking employee.
Outside of work, Jimmie found joy in the simple things. He loved spending time fishing and camping, collecting firearms, and enjoying a game of pool with family and friends. He treasured the outdoors and the memories made with those he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lee Robertson and Nadine (Higginbotham) Robertson Pritchard; his beloved wife, Cheryl Robertson; and his brother, David Robertson.
Jimmie is survived by his son, James Robertson; his daughter, Mary Robertson; his sister, Carol Schultz; and many other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
