Jimmy Dean Carter

Jimmy Dean Carter was born December 8, 1964, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to Samuel and Barbara (Cooper) Carter. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the age of 61.

Jimmy attended the Oklahoma School for the Deaf, where he was active in athletics, playing football, basketball, golf, and tennis. After graduation, he went on to attend college classes at East Central University.

Jimmy's passion was aviation. His love of flying was a special part of his life. In his free time, Jimmy enjoyed fishing and traveling and appreciated the opportunities to see new places and experience new things.

Above all else, Jimmy loved God and devoted his life to serving Him. His faith was the most important part of his life and guided him throughout the years. His love for the Lord was evident to those around him, and his church family held a special place in his heart.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Carter, and son, Joshua David Carter.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Carter; sons: Andrew Michael Carter and Samuel Dean Carter; two grandchildren; his church family; and many others whose lives were touched by his faith and friendship.

Viewing will be available Thursday, August 20, at Whitt Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Funeral services are planned for 2:30 P.M., Friday, August 21, in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Reggie Creekmore officiating.

A sign language interpreter will be available during the service for the hearing impaired.
