Jimmy Ronald Stauffer, of Walters, Oklahoma, entered this world on February 27, 1937 in Elgin, Oklahoma to John T. and Veda Pearl (George) Stauffer. He met his Lord, Jesus, on Thursday, June 24, 2021 in Duncan, Oklahoma.

There are no services planned at this time. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center of Duncan.

Jim graduated from Elgin High School with the class of 1955. He married the love of his life, Artie Jo Reynolds, on September 16, 1961. To this union two children, Art and Tammy, were born.

He began his long career in banking in 1963 at the bank in Walters where he worked for 7 years as Vice President. For the next 21 years, he would spend his career at Citizens Bank in Velma as President and Chairman of the board. He eventually ended his banking career at Arvest Bank in Duncan where he spent the following 15 years.

Jim enjoyed working in the yard, loved watching OU football and Rangers baseball. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He loved his family and his Lord, Jesus.

Jim is survived by the love of his life of almost 60 years, Artie Jo; his children: Art Ronald Stauffer and wife Amy of Durant,OK; Tammy Lynn Lord and husband Paul of Houston, Texas; his granddaughters: Cailin Stauffer of Tulsa, OK and Syd Stephenson of Norman, OK and their beloved dog, Molly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, George Frederick Stauffer, David F. Stauffer, J.T. Stauffer, and Frankie Stauffer; and his sisters, Elizabeth Provine and Margaret Jones.

Always admired this man for the care he put into anything he did for his family, be it family vacations, Christmas or birthdays. A man of few words , with a great big heart. It was an honor to have known him.
