Jimmy Paul Woods

Jimmy Paul Woods, of Duncan, Oklahoma was born July 24, 1936 in Walters, Oklahoma to Edgar J. "Ed" and Myrtle (Latham) Woods. He completed his earthly journey on Thursday, August 11, 2022, in Oklahoma City with his loving wife and daughters at his side.

The family will greet visitors on Monday, August 15, between 5:30 and 6:30 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, August 16, at 9:00 A.M. in the chapel at Whitt Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Southerland, New Hope Baptist Church West, officiating. Interment will be at 1:00 P.M. in the Paoli Cemetery in Paoli, Oklahoma.

Jim graduated from Empire High School with the Class of 1955 and later received an Associate's degree from a technical school. He opened his own business, DraftCo, where he was president for 30 years. In his younger years, Jim enjoyed hunting with his brothers. He loved quail hunting with his beloved dog, Duke. He also loved to fish and grow a garden. He enjoyed eating. Jim was a man of few words but when he did speak, his words meant something. God was an important part of Jim's life as was his family.

Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ross Woods and Gary Woods; and sister, Mary Ann Herring, Jim is survived by his wife, JoAnn; daughters, Heather Hilton of Duncan and Keri Pittman and her husband Kindale of Baja Norte, Mexico; grandson, Evan Hilton; and brother-in-law, Marvin Herring.
