Jo Sellers White Obituary
Jo Sellers White passed to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at the age of 94.
Viewing will be available at Whitt Funeral Home Friday, June 26, from 8:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M. A funeral service is planned for 1:00 P.M., Saturday, June 27, in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Stephen Earnest officiating and assisted by Ron Stough. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery with Kent Sellers, Eric Courtright, Jay Tewell, Seth Holt, Shawn Holt, and Kevin Elliot serving as pallbearers.
Jo was born near Ringling, Oklahoma on February 8, 1932 to John Harvey and Onie Francis Perkins. She had a happy childhood and loving parents. She had two brothers and was one of four sisters. Her only living sister is Martha Francis (13 years younger), living in Duncan, Oklahoma.
Her two children, son Lonnie Courtright (wife Linda) and daughter, Onie Estella Sellers (husband Doug), were the joy of her life. She was so proud of her two children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she was blessed to see yet another generation of great-great-grandchildren!
Jo wanted her family to know that she tried to be a good mother and grandmother, but more importantly, she wanted them to know that she loved Jesus Christ. She was baptized when she was around six or seven years old, but the reason for her baptism was because her teacher asked if she wanted to go to Heaven. It wasn't until 1952 when she was expecting, that she realized that she was too young to know what she was doing back then. Both her and her husband were then saved by Christ. She believed that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God and only through Him can one be saved.
Jo's desire was that all her family would have salvation in Christ. She wanted them to know that she praised the Lord for all He had done for her life. People would always tell her that she was "lucky" that she had a great life, wonderful and generous children and a loving family that cared for her. Her request was that those who don't know Christ need to stop and think about what it means to be blessed. None of this was luck or good fortune. It was all that the Lord had given to her from His hands...not because she was a good person, but because only God is good. STOP and THINK: Are you turning away from the Lord or turning towards Him? He is the only source of light and life eternal.

Jo is survived by her children: Lonnie Courtright and wife Linda and Estella Sellers and husband Doug; grandchildren: Kent Sellers, Mae Holt, Angie Elliott, Sonia Tewell, Holly Courtright, Eric Courtright; great-grandchildren: Brennan Bishop, Andrew Courtright, Carson Tewell, Alyssa Courtright, Katie Elliott, Kennedy Tewell, Vanessa Talbert, Seth Holt, Alexia Holt; great-great-grandchildren: Ember Holt and Lincoln Phipps, Sterling Holt and Brayleeah Holt, Solenne Bishop; and sister, Martha Francis (Fran) Friedel.
