Joe Franklin Kaiser

Joe Franklin Kaiser passed to his heavenly home on February 15th, 2025 at the age of 96. He was born February 16th, 1928 to Clyde William Kaiser and Myrtle Mary Hart Kaiser shortly before his twin brother John. Joe was the 4th of 13 children, which included 4 sets of twins. The family grew up near Stonewall, Oakman, and Byng near Ada, OK. He passed just minutes before his 97th Birthday, but was celebrating with those that have gone before him. Joe is remembered as a man of God with a servant's heart.

A funeral service is planned for 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 21, at the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Billy Morgan officiating with interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers are Charley Riddles, Ronnie Kaiser, Cody Kaiser, Davy Gregston, Jake Kaiser, and Justin Kaiser. Joe graduated from Byng High School in 1948. He and his siblings participated on the basketball and baseball teams, winning several state championships. After graduation Joe served in the US Air Force from 1948 to 1952. He trained at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, TX and was later stationed in Japan and Korea, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. Joe served in the Air Force Reserve until 1956.

From a first marriage was born a son Joe (Jodie) Franklin Eppler. As Jodie grew up Joe would enjoy summer visits with him when they would travel and spend time at the lake. When they were older the two would enjoy visits and calls swapping life stories and family history.

On April 16th, 1955 Joe married the love of his life Rachel Alice Coffey also from Byng, OK. As twins often do things alike the day before, Joe's twin John married Rachel's sister Naomi Coffey. Joe was employed by the district office of the State Highway Department in Ada, OK. Later that year the couple would move to Duncan, OK where Joe would start a 25 year career with Halliburton working in the Accounts Payable Department retiring as a department supervisor. In 1961 Joe and Rachel welcomed their daughter Nancy. When Rachel was diagnosed with Parkinson's Joe was a loving caretaker until her passing in 2004.

After moving to Duncan in 1955 Joe and Rachel became members of Immanual Baptist Church until their passing. They were strong in their faith and active in church activities. Joe served as a greeter, on committees, taught Sunday school, and helped with the Bus Ministry. He had a beautiful voice and loved singing in the choir. After Rachel's passing Joe would help at the Senior Citizens Center and help lead a group of seniors that would sing hymns at the nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

Joe stayed active at home, in church, and visiting friends for many years until macular degeneration diminished his eye sight. He moved to Canoe Brook Assisted Living in 2017 until his passing. Joe loved to set up his sound system every Wednesday for the church service, and for other special events, and as long as he had the breath would sing hymns and lead others to praise the Lord. He also became an unofficial greeter and welcome wagon to new residence. The staff took such good care of Joe and they became extended family members.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rachel, son Jodie Eppler, grandson Chad Riddles, nephew Mike Kaiser, 7 sisters, and 3 brothers. He is survived by daughter Nancy Riddles (Charley), brother Don Kaiser, sister Mary Miller, grandson Steve Eppler, granddaughter Kristen Hunter, 4 great grandchildren, special nephew Ronnie Kaiser, and a host of other nieces, nephews, and friends.
