Joe Stephens Obituary

Joe Keith Stephens, of Duncan, was born in Gainesville, Texas to Billy Joe and Patricia Gayle (Turner) Stephens on February 28, 1974. At the age of 51, he passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, February 10, at 1:00 P.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Stephens officiating. A live stream of his chapel service will be available by visiting his obituary at www.whittfh.com. Serving as pallbearers are Daniel Evans, Haydon Evans, Toby Stephens, Heath Miller, Jacob Mitchell and Juan Guerrero-Garcia. Interment will follow at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by the Stephens County Honor Guard and the Patriot Guard Riders.

Joe graduated from Marietta High School, Marietta, Oklahoma, in 1993. He joined the US Navy in June 1993 and proudly served as a Gunner 1st Mate in California where he served on the USS KISKA. He was honorably discharged in August 1996. He received numerous awards and medals during his service time, including the Southwest Asia Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Good Conduct Award and several others.

Sharing a love that spanned 19 years, Joe started dating Donna Kelly on April 23, 2007. They married on April 27, 2012. Joe was a loving husband and he loved her more than anything in the world.

Joe was employed as a supervisor at LegalShield for 14 years. He had also worked as a prison guard and at Halliburton and as a supervisor at Family Dollar. He loved OU football, going fishing, riding his motorcycle and driving his toy car. He was a Christian man who loved spending time with his family. He was the world's best uncle to some very lucky children. He also loved his dogs - Pearl, Prissy, Daisy, and Iris. Joe never met a stranger.

Left behind are his loving wife, Donna; parents: Billy Joe and Patricia Gayle Stephens; sister, Tammy Gayle Guerrero Garcia and husband Juan; brother-in-law, Barry Kelly; and sister-in-law, Tracy Evans and husband Daniel. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Amanda Gallaway and Heath Miller, Jordon and Jonathan Darr, Shellby and Jonathan Hyde, Haydon and Audra Evans, Kambri Evans and Kayden Rohcer, Tristin and Jace Cowan, Braylee Dexter; and great nephews: Ryker Hyde and Alexander Wilbanks; great niece, Anastasia Wilbanks. He also leaves behind several aunts and uncle.

Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents: Lucille and Leonard Stephens, Noble and Helen Turner; and his parents-in-law: Linda and Jimmy Kelly.
