John Jr Chaney was born June 7, 1950, in Loco, Oklahoma to John Oscar Chaney and Ellie Jane (Gonzales) Baker. He passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023, in Duncan. He was 72.

John attended Comanche Public School before becoming a long-haul truck driver. He loved old cars and doing yard work. He enjoyed participating in gun re-enactments. He also loved gathering with his friends over coffee. He was a kind, gentle, and very giving person.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Oscar Dale Chaney, Billy Don Chaney, and Harold Wayne Chaney.
John is survived by his children: Nyoka June Chaney and Tom Doyle, Wanona Jo, and husband Jimmy Sutton, Penny Christie Genereux, Frankie Leona, and husband Eddie Reid, all of Duncan, Kammie LaFaye and husband Jason Bruce, Dustin John Chaney, and Bobbie Dean Chaney, all of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren: Pamela Nicole Reid, Mikayla Alyssia Chaney, Tristan Bradley and Ray Tosh, Syvanna Christine Sky Little (Maliq Little), Brietta Yasmin Chaney-Farrow, Ariel S. Chaney, Elijah Dean Bruce, Shealonda Dixon, Chelsey Howard, Jimmy Dean Sutton Jr., Jacob Wayne Huddleston, Troy Allen Huddleston, Nick Shawn Huddleston, Zack David Huddleston, Scott Alan Genereux, Eyevan Aaron Genereux, Gerry Edward Genereux; and great- grandchildren: Aurora Jane Sutton, Jimmy Sutton III, Rily Pearl Howard, Reese Louise Howard, Evan Huddleston, Adam Huddleston, Brianna Huddleston, Briden Huddleston, Christopher Huddleston, Cecely Hudleston, Rose Huddleston, Iva Huddleston, Sadie Huddleston, and Xaelyn Amir Little. He is also survived by two sisters: Debbie Fern and husband Larry Elliott of Comanche, and Betty Jane Cox of Duncan.
