Johnetta Darlene (Culp) Gilbreath

Johnetta Darlene (Culp) Gilbreath, Apache, was born February 16, 1946 in Chickasha, OK to John Preston “JP” Culp and Byrena Joy (Baxter) Culp. She passed away September 14, 2018 at the age of 72.

Family will receive friends from 6pm-8pm at the funeral home on Monday, September 17, 2018. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at 10am at the 1st United Methodist Church in Apache officiated by Reverend Anna Marie George. Burial will follow at Cache Creek Mission Cemetery under direction of Crews Funeral Home.

Johnetta graduated from Cyril High School in 1965. She married Victor John “Vic” Gilbreath on July 23, 1966; he preceded her in death on April 14, 1999. Johnetta worked for National Life Insurance for 10 years. She then owned and operated the Apache flower shop with her sister-in-law for 25 years. She then went to work for Farmers Insurance in Cyril and Lawton for another 10 years. Johnetta went to work for Elgin Realty for 5 years before finally retiring. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, working in her flower beds, crafting, and going to the Nutrition Center in Apache. What she loved most of all was spending time with her family and grandkids. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her father, John Preston “JP” Culp; her husband, Victor “Vic” Gilbreath; brother-in-law, Mark Gilbreath; sister-in-law, Terry Culp; father-in-law, Walter Gilbreath and mother-in-law, Lois Gilbreath.

Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Gilbreath-Bridges and husband Jason of Fletcher; mother, Byrena Culp of Apache; grandkids: Dacie Bridges, Lane Bridges and Bode Bridges all of Fletcher; brother, Albert Culp and wife Susan of Marlow; sister, Linda Johns and husband Jim of Apache; brother-in-law, Kermit Gilbreath of Apache; sister-in-law, Karen Gilbreath of Apache; and a very special friend, Doyle Lindsey.
