Joyce Pearson Obituary
Jimmie "Joyce" Pearson was born September 15, 1926 in Wade, Oklahoma to Elbert and Maude (Barr) Scott. She completed her earthly journey on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, in Duncan at the age of 94.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, April 29, 5:00-6:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, April 30, at 10:00 A.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Morgan officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Jarrod Field, Jeremy Woolf, Logan Astley, Jacob Astley, Matthew Pearson, and Alex Astley. Interment will be at 3:00 P.M. in the Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
After her high school graduation, Joyce married Andrew "Jack" Pearson on February 7, 1946 in Durant. In 1950 Joyce and Jack opened Pearson's Paint and Awnings in Duncan where Joyce worked as the secretary until her retirement in the early 1980's.
Joyce is survived by her children: Keith and wife Karla Pearson of Duncan; Vickie Duke of Marlow; Debbie and husband Leon Woolf of Duncan; grandchildren: Davie Duke Jr.; Shawna and husband Jacob Astley; Jeremy and wife Payten Woolf; Ann and husband Jarrod Field; Matthew Pearson; and great grandchildren: Alex Astley, Logan Astley, Kaitlyn Astley, Kyler Woolf, Gavin Woolf, Regan Woolf, Madden Field, Weston Field.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; son, Ricky Pearson; son-in-law, Davie Duke; granddaughter, Mary Heather Pearson; sister, Lois Hiberd; and brother, Thurman Hampton.
