June Hammond

Bobbie June Hammond was born June 4, 1934 in Corum, Oklahoma to Grady Cletus and Addie Lee (Coleman) Liles. She completed her earthly journey on Saturday, October 3, 2020 in Duncan.

Visitation is Tuesday, October 6, at 5:30-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 7, at 10:30 A.M. at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Randy Southerland officiating under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.

June was a 1952 Duncan High School graduate. Before her graduation, she married O.G. Hammond on October 28, 1950 at Camp Polk, Louisiana. To this union, three children – Randy, Gayla and Ron – were born.

She enjoyed searching genealogy. She also enjoyed reading and cooking. She loved her church, New Hope Baptist Church West. June loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

June is survived by her children: Gayla Hunter of Duncan and Ron (Kim) Hammond of Argyle, Texas; grandchildren: Cimarron Hughes, Branden (Megan) Hunter, Travis Hunter, Logan (Andrew) Crow, Carson Hammond, Spencer Branstetter, Emery Hammond, Joshua (Christine) Hammond; great grandchildren: Riley Hunter, Catherine Hunter, Conner Hunter, Caydyn Hunter, Anabell Hammond, Gracie Hammond; and sister-in-law, Wanda Liles.

Preceding June in death were her parents; husband, O.G. Hammond; son, Randy Hammond; brother, Gordon Liles; and sister, Joye Tisdale.

The family is grateful for the loving care given to June by the staff at Elk Crossing.
