Karen Diann Steinke was born March 20, 1961 in Duncan, Oklahoma to James "Pete" and Lois Jolean (Jennings) Haviland. She completed life's journey on May 12, 2021 at the age of 60.
A private memorial service is being planned. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
Karen graduated from Comanche High School in 1979. She married Michael Steinke on March 1, 1991 in Comanche. To this union a daughter, Makayla, was born. Karen was employed at Wilkins Nursing and Rehabilitation in the housekeeping department.
She enjoyed helping people. She also liked to read and work crossword puzzles. She had three grandchildren with whom she loved spending time and playing games. She also loved visiting the family farm. Karen was a member of Duncan United Pentecostal Church.
Karen is survived by her husband, Michael; daughter, Makayla Steinke (Cyle Landram); grandchildren: Jayden Glock, Lilly Brown, and Kendell Landram; and brother, James Haviland (Karen).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Lois Haviland; brothers and sister-in-law, Rodney Haviland (Peggy) and Arthur Haviland.
