Kay Frances (McCartney) Rolofson was born July 12, 1944 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Elmo and Floetta (Hanson) McCartney. She passed away in Lawton, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at the age of 80.
A Celebration of Life service is being planned for a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
Kay graduated from Duncan High School. She began her career working at Southwestern Bell, becoming one of the first women to work as a lineman, and also as a pipefitter. In her free time, Kay loved anything to do with horses, doing leatherwork, and working in the garden. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family. Her grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren were the joys of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ferrel McCartney. Survivors include her children: Terri Allen and husband Don, Ronni Brinegar and husband Perry all of Duncan, Jimmi McKee and husband Steve of Las Vegas, NV, Lynn Rolofson and Lori Johnson both of Plant City, FL, Christopher Rolofson of Sacramento, CA; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her sister, Gail Akins of Comanche, OK and half-sister, Gwen (McCartney) Alread.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Kay's name to the Stephens County Humane Society.
