Kenneth Malcolm Floyd, of Duncan, OK, was born January 4, 1927 to Arthur Green and Winnie (Bazemore) Floyd in Ada, OK. He passed away on July 31 at the age of 89 in Duncan.
Family visitation will be Monday, August 1, at 5:30-7:30 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home, 3720 N. Highway 81.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 2, at the New Hope Baptist Church West of Duncan with Pastor Randy Southerland officiating. Interment will be in the Foster Cemetery in Foster. Services are under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.
   Malcolm graduated from the Ada High School where he played on the first Ada High School football team that went undefeated in regular season, but was beaten by Tulsa Central in the playoffs. He then graduated from East Central in Ada with a Bachelor's Degree and from Adams State University with a Master's Degree. He took flight school while attending ECU.
   He joined the U.S. Navy in January, 1945 and was honorably discharged as a Seaman First Class in July, 1946. While in the Navy, he served in the Atlantic Ocean on the ship, LSMR521, as a rocket launcher.
   Malcolm taught Industrial Arts and Social Studies at Pernell High School. During that time he married Wanda Faye Henderson on July 18, 1953. They were blessed three children, Max Wayne, Linda Lou, and Joe Alan. He was a high school principal and superintendent in Colorado for 10 years, and then he served 2 years as superintendent/teacher at Loco. Malcom then served as superintendent at Big Pasture. He also served as the Bray Superintendent and taught driver's education. While serving there, the school annexed Doyle to become the Bray-Doyle School District. Malcom retired as Superintendent at Bray in 1974 and returned in the fall of 1974 to drive a school bus for 2 years.
   Malcolm enjoyed fishing and quail hunting. He volunteered as a sponsor for the Duncan FFA Chapter where he received the Honorary Chapter FFA Degree as well as the Chapter Blue and Gold Award for his years of assistance. He also started the agriculture program at Bray while serving as Superintendent. He was a member at New Hope Baptist Church West of Duncan.
   He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wanda; 1 son, Max Wayne Floyd and wife Gale of Empire; 1 daughter, Linda Lou Bonds and husband Danny, of Empire; 1 daughter-in-law, DeLisa Floyd; 8 grandchildren, Brandon Floyd and wife Sara of Duncan, DeLynn Floyd of Empire, Greg Floyd and wife Rachel of Comanche, Sarah Purvis of Duncan, Emily Floyd of Empire, Chad Michael Abshire of Duncan, Chris Abshire and wife Missy of Empire, Tandy Banks and wife Mindy of Marlow; 14 great-grandchildren, Josh and Ike Floyd, Kelsey and Dalton Bradford, Ashley Floyd, Dillon Purvis, Logan and Zoey Guston, Bladen and Tate Childers, Gabriel, Cooper and Lincoln Abshire, and Hagen Abshire; 1 sister, Elaine Essary of Jacksonville, FL.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Joe Alan Floyd, and a brother-in-law, Arch Essary.
