Kenneth Smart Obituary
Kenneth Ray Smart, 90, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away May 5, 2022 at Elk Crossing Nursing Home. He was born May 29, 1931 in Walters, Oklahoma to Eula Bell and George L. Smart.
Kenneth married Charlene Careathers on April 21, 1951 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was an avid bowler, bowling several perfect games during his bowling career. He loved watching OU athletics, especially football. Reading was also a favorite pastime and he would read several books a week. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, play cards, pool, dominoes, Thirty-One, and outdoor games of any kind. In his later years he loved calling Bingo for the Senior Citizens and then the nursing home. He was employed at Halliburton as a machinist until his retirement in 1996.
Survivors include his children: Micheal Ray Smart and Linda Morris of Yukon, Deborah Kay Brown and Alan of Hooker, Steven Lee Smart and Debbie of Duncan, and Laura Ann Jones and John of Marlow; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and three brothers: Pete, Wendy, and Bob.
Visitation is planned for Monday, May 9, between 5:30-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Tuesday, May 10, at 10:00 A.M. at Duncan Municipal Cemetery with Paul Floyd officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
